Have you heard of the “Rösti ditch”?   Rösti is literally a breakfast dish of hashed potatoes. However, in Switzerland the term Rösti ditch (Röstigraben in German or rideau de rösti in French) refers to the cultural divide between German and French speaking Switzerland. There’s even another humorous term, Polentagraben. This refers to the cultural divide with Italian-speaking Switzerland. This is a multicultural, multilingual nation in the heart of Europe.
