Georgetown University ACS: Neuroscience and Culture
Date: February 11, 2020

Despite the best intentions, most of us don’t consistently demonstrate inclusive behaviors. Life is getting harder and more complex, we are working across cultures and time zones, and we have to make decisions faster and with less information. In the brain’s quest for efficiency and belonging, it can easily fall prey to its negativity bias, defensive mode, and deeply embedded assumptions.

The Details

Join Jamie Gelbtuch, Founder of Cultural Mixology, to learn how to effectively navigate cultural differences in a global work environment from a neuroscience perspective, including:

  • How the brain can work for us—and against us—in developing cultural agility
  • A framework for identifying where you and your colleagues are focused in conversations and how to shift into the brain’s higher realms of thinking
  • Strategies for tapping into self-awareness and consciously focusing on achieving mutually desired outcomes
